About BBC 1Xtra

Listen online to the internet radio of BBC Radio 1Xtra live here, on Radio 2 You!
BBC Radio 1Xtra is the sister station of the BBC Radio 1. Launched in 2002 when the growing popularity of underground music forced the BBC Radio 1 to start a separate station focusing on the line of urban dance and rhythmic contemporary music. The target audience is slightly younger than the BBC Radio 1’s, so the more than 1 million weekly listeners are mainly from the under 30 age group. BBC Radio 1Xtra playlist lines up the latest music from a very diverse genre and subgenre selection, mainly from the so-called black music.
“The 1Xtra Breakfast Show with Dotty” ignites the weekday mornings with Ashley Charles from 6am to 10am, and the weekend mornings are under Mim Shaikh’s command between 6am and 10am.
