Free Radio is in the ownership of Bauer Radio Ltd., part of Bauer's Hits Radio Network, and member of the Planet Radio’s radio station fleet. Free Radio is 5 radio stations’ radio network with local and network programming in the West Midlands, and the whole radio station network has 521.000 weekly listeners.
Free Radio’s presenters bring good-mooded, humorous talk-shows to keep the West Midlands alive. Local news and travel-traffic informations as well as locally relevant weather reports update the listeners’ information supply.
Free Radio’s playlist is consisted of mainstream music, with larger emphasis on the current pop songs, but the classic hits from the last 15 years are also included.
Free Radio network's stations start the weekdays with morning shows between 6am and 10am. The Free Radio's Hits at Breakfast show is led by Dan Morrisey in Birmingham, Black Country, and Shropshire. In Coventry & Warwickshire the JD & Roisin Hits at Breakfast show starts the mornings, while the breakfast show of Herefordshire & Worcestershire is under Tom Newitt's command.
On Sundays "The UK Chart Show" is broadcasted on all Free Radio stations, from 4pm to 7pm, Bauer's brand-new chart show is led by Sarah-Jane Crawford, with the hottest 30 songs.

Bauer to network drivetime across 11 licences in North and Midlands
Bauer Media has announced plans to network Wes Butters and Gemma Atkinson across most of its big city stations in England, meaning 7 presenters will lose their daily drivetime show. Bauer gains approval to network breakfast shows
Ofcom has granted Bauer a number of Format changes to allow all of its stations to network all but three hours each weekday rather than the previous seven. UK commercial radio stations have been allowed to submit Format changes since the Localness Guidelines were amended last year, but Bauer has only just taken the steps required to allow this. Bauer design agency reveals Hits Radio national roll-out
One of Bauer’s design agencies has offered an insight into the future of the Hits Radio brand after writing about its recent work on its website. Thinkfarm, which works with Bauer designing and promoting some of its radio stations, created the brand identity and marketing campaign for Hits Radio. RAJAR Q3 2018: Regional and local radio round-up
Manchester is once again our focus on the local radio round-up, where the station previously known as Key 103 has lost more listeners. Hits Radio (Manchester) is reporting 325,000 weekly reach, compared with 374,000 last quarter. This is half the amount of listeners it had four years ago.
