AdsWizz’ ShakeMe ad tech will air on UK radio with talkSPORT

AdsWizz announced that radio sports station talkSPORT will leverage its ShakeMe technology for a new campaign in the UK. ShakeMe is an interactive audio ad format that helps listeners take an automatic action on their smartphone in response to the spot. With these ads, a listener can shake their phone to immediately download an app, open a website, or place a call without needing to look at or unlock their device.

Eddie Mair confirmed for LBC from September

LBC has confirmed it’s hired Radio 4 PM presenter Eddie Mair to do a new show on the commercial station from September. It follows his news yesterday that he was leaving the BBC after more than 30 years. Georgia Mann joins BBC Radio 3 breakfast team

BBC Radio 3 has appointed Georgia Mann as an additional presenter on its breakfast programme from Monday 9 July 2018. Georgia is already a familiar voice to Radio 3 listeners, regularly presenting the station’s Breakfast, Afternoon Concert and Radio 3 in Concert programmes and reporting on the BBC Proms.

BBC Radio 3 announces the six musicians joining its New Generation Artists scheme from 2018-20

BBC Radio 3 has announced the six new musicians from around the globe that the station has selected to join its prestigious New Generation Artists scheme from 2018-20: tenor Alessandro Fisher, cellist Anastasia Kobekina, the Aris Quartet, pianist Elisabeth Brauss, baritone James Newby and soprano Katharina Konradi.

Entries now open for ARIAS radio industry awards

The Audio & Radio Industry Awards 2018 are now open for entries ahead of the event in Leeds on October 18th. Organised by The Radio Academy and supported by LeedsBID (Business Improvement District), the awards will be returning for the third year to the First Direct Arena in Leeds where the winners will be unveiled.

Lauren Laverne to broadcast from Sage Gateshead

2018 New York Radio Festivals winners announced

Two of the five top ‘Grand Awards’ of the New York International Radio Festivals have gone to the UK this year, thanks to the BBC and TBI Media. The BBC won in the Best Digital Special Event category for putting on BBC Radio 1 Vintage for the station’s 50th birthday last year, whilst TBI Media took home the prize for its Born This Way documentary made for BBC Radio 2.

Kylie Minogue to headline BBC Radio 2 event

BBC Radio 2 has announced Kylie Minogue will headline its annual Live in Hyde Park event this year. Other confirmed acts include Carrie Underwood, All Saints, Rita Ora, Lenny Kravitz, The Band of Love and Manic Street Preachers. 50,000 people are expected to attend on Sunday 9th September.
